Amsterdam Art Weekend

During Amsterdam Art Weekend the city turns into an internationally oriented meeting place for promising and renowned artists, art enthusiasts and professionals. Participants include galleries, museums, art institutes, theaters and artist residencies. We have the pleasure to create and submerge the city with the Amsterdam Art Weekend's graphic identity. Rooted from their existing capital 'A' we created a new alphabet. Supported with a clear set of shapes, lines and a beautiful and very suitable –already by its name– typeface ('Chapeau' by Timo Gasner, Milieu Grotesk) it's all adding up to the weekend's recognizable character. Ranging from wrapping gigantic cylinders, flags in front of the locations, series of posters hanging around town, information booklets and invitations, screens at EYE for the art screenings, festive light boxes (in cooperation with La Bolleur) for the weekend's party at the Stadsschouwburg, newspaper insert (NRC Handelsblad), signage to point out the participants, tote bags, buttons, tickets, and even more. The monotone coloring system will clearly point out when you're confronted with the next edition of the annual Amsterdam Art Weekend.
